The only reason I returned it was because I need a backpack with some organization details. This is basically one pouch with only a small zippered pocket on the outside. Was disappointed it didn't work for me because the size was perfect - not too big and not too small. A little big for a 4yr old, but it can be used for years. Many other kid backpacks aren't large enough to fit 8.5 by 11 folders. This pack is big enough and should last through grade school. It still looks in as good of shape as the day we bought it. I actually used it a few weeks ago when I needed to carry a lot of stuff but needed to keep my hands free and it was so comfortable on my back that I forgot it was there.
