This is the toughest, strongest backpack that I've ever owned. Its also the least expensive one. In the Thrift Stores and second hand shops in NJ, used but like new ALICE [All-purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment] LC1 packs sell for between four and six dollars and on eBay they sell for as low as ten.For under $10, you'll never find a tougher backpack but it is not that convenient of a pack either. It just a a big bag, there are no individual, zippered compartments like you would have in a normal pack. Those three round compartments seen on the outside are almost useless. They don't shut tight, they actually don't shut at all, there is just a strap across the top. Can't put small items in those without having them fall out when you bend over or set the pack on the ground. Putting little stuff on the bottom and packing the tops with a hat or underwear keeps things from toppling out but by the end of the trip your underwear will be dirty and you won't... Read more |
