We used them on a 6 day trip to Paris. The pack had sufficient room and was easily expandable to carry 6 days worth of clothing and travel items. Once packed, we cinched the straps down tight and we were able to bring them on the plane as carry-ons which was a definite plus! The straps were comfortable and easily adjustable. I definitely recommend this pack for short trips! It came with great instructions labeling parts of the pack. It's a thick tough backpack with plenty of room for a very comfortable 3-4 day trip. Almost every single strap is completely adjustable through the straps. The aluminum rod in the middle along with the big cushion pouch on the bottom makes it decently comfortable. The pack holds a lot and all of the pockets are very well placed. There is a large main compartment with a divider on the bottom which divides it form the separate lower opening that access your sleeping bag in the lower part of the main compartment. One big pouch on the front and a decent size pocket on the very top. Also an access zipper on the front to the main compartment under the big pouch on the front. Net pockets along the bottom and and few loops and hooks spread throughout the pack to hang stuff on. the The only con is the straps are too... Definitely measure your torso and choose the smaller of the size if you are in the overlap area of the two sizes. My frame and Dad's 5'11" frame measured in the overlap area and we had to return the medium/large for the small/medium because the fit was so oversized. It is a sturdy, nicely priced backpack, truly lightweight. The sleeping bag compartment is a nice feature and easily fits our 3lb. 5oz. down mummy bag w/no stuff sac. It would be nice to have side pockets even at the expense of added pack weight. The main negative to this bag is the side mesh pockets were very short. Neither the � nor 1 liter bottles stay in them nicely. You have to use the straps to hold them in, harder to get the bottles in and out.
