To this day, however, I haven't quite lost my taste for fancy (and useful) kit. A "gear-do", so to speak. Every day, I like to keep a variety of items handy, just in case. It also beats relying on a backpack. Fanny packs are nice, too, but they can also be hard on your back or they can get in the way (especially the larger ones).The Maxpedition H-1 isn't exactly low-profile, but it's innocuous enough; I underestimated the size of it. The holster in the side is a little too big for my Surefire G2 Nitrolon, and it's not exactly secure. It's decent for an Every-Day-Carry pouch, but if you're going to load it up to capacity and wear it on your belt, you're going to need a counter-weight on the opposite side. Otherwise, you're going to mess up your lower back something awful, especially over prolonged periods of wear. It mounts to your belt and is large enough to hold a can of soda or large camera. There are also many other pockets/sleeves for pens, a small flashlight or knife. The material is durable and it is well made. I am planning to buy more Maxpedition products in the future. Also bought some speed clips to attach it with, but for the moment i am using the standard Maxpedition straps i purchased separately. I heard these straps fray and come apart although i have not had this problems as of yet. This pocket has plenty of pockets. If i had to list a negative it would be the gigantic piece of Velcro used for the front. It is very very very loud! Someone will know when you are opening the flap! Not a deal breaker though. I bought this pack strictly to attach it to my Lunada so i can not comment on the bag as a waist pack. |
